Product Review: Wildfire Paints

This little project has been a thorn in my side for a while now.

I had this idea to begin transitioning an area of the yard into primarily blacklit space. And, a part of that has been wanting to make my Tzompantli conducive to such a situation.

That meant glowing skulls.

Now, I’m not going to go into a full range of the things that have gone wrong with my attempts to make this happen to my satisfaction with flourescing items I had laying around.

I finally gave in, looked around, and stumbled on Wildfire Paints. Yes, there was a lot of claims on the website there, but I’m a skeptical person when it comes to claims.

Well, my order arrived, and I finally put it to the test today.

The stuff is INSANELY BRIGHT. I took a TINY bit of paint, and started adding water, as I didn’t want it to completely COVER the skulls and leave no detail. A LOT of water later, and we had this huge pool of colored water, essentially.

But, that was all it took to make the effect I was after.

So, if you’re out there looking for some UV paints, Wildfire Paint is as far as you need look!

(I’ld just like to state that I have not been paid for this review by anyone, including Wildfire Paint.  If they would like to pay me with some free paints, however, I’ld be happy to adjust this silly thing to state such.)

What’s This?

Bare with me here. You might have noticed we’re going through a few growing pains. However, this is all going to be a good thing in the end, once I figure out how to edit up this stuff properly. You might notice, this is now a right and true .com. No more blogspot. As such, I am free to add some additional pages and sections that I’ve always wanted to. So, look for new things coming soon in the future.

Most things converted over just great, however, my whole sidebar of links and stuff did not, so if you don’t see yourself over there anymore, just give me a little while to rebuild that.

STEVE!

Going way back to last January, I’ve been planning a shift of our theme towards my own version of Spider Woman.

Now, one of the features of Spider Woman was that she decorated her lair with her victims. Just how this was to be is entirely open to enterpretation.

And, I’ve been researching on some decoration with the deceased for quite some time.

…And yet, I keep coming back to the Chachapoyas. People of the clouds…just how did they reach their cliff dwellings? Perhaps with assistance from Spider Woman? Perhaps this also influenced their mummification techniques? They sure look like they were bundled up by a spider…

Besides, if they’re good enough inspiration for Raiders of the Lost Ark, why not my little yard?

A little lessons learned from Bob, and Fred, and it should be possible to emulate a Chachapoyan mummy rather cheaply. But, what’s this Steve business?

Well…

Cookies.

Fortunately, I was able to enlist some help in this year’s cookie mayhem.

Combined with the smaller cookies this year, we trimmed a good 6 hours off the whole process. Yes, some might be disappointed with smaller cookies, but our schedule and my sanity must take priority.

As always, though, it would not be Christmas without the Three Wise T-Rex.

Jack’s gone!

Yay!!! Jack’s gone!

I was getting worried there for a while.

I know you’re confused. Answers are forthcoming when I get some time.

I don’t know why the paper has not picked this up this year, and it was hell trying to find the info on the internet as well. So, here’s some info on the Luminaries at Leavitt’s Mortuary this year.

This was a lot of fun last year, and I would encourage anyone within range to make it out this year.
