BIGGEST movie of the SUMMER!!!

There are just some movies you don’t even need to watch to know they are going to be absolutely terrible.

And, the biggest movie of the summer is no different.

MEGA SHARK VS GIANT OCTOPUS!!!

And, while it releases May 19th, straight to DVD…I’m fairly comfortable in declaring it won’t be too awful long before it goes straight to the SciFi Channel.

And, we’ll be waiting with another gripping review from the family on a movie sure to be as gripping as Dragon Wars…

Dredging up Ghosts

Oi.

So, what’s been going on?

Well, between all the being sick, and getting Kyle’s work done on the computer, there hasn’t been a whole lot of free time to be on here lately.

After our little spout with the sickness, Kyle missed his opportunity to complete his reports at school. SO, we had to do it at home.

Powerpoint presentations, and oral reports. Too bad our powerpoint is NOT as new as the one they have a school, so Kyle didn’t really know HOW to do the stuff he needed to. Guess who got to show him?

I’m FAR from an expert with powerpoint, but I spent enough time with ye olde Apple IIe newsroom as a child (making my own paper) that everything else, frankly, seems like a piece of cake. And, I’m more than willing to click till I find what I’m looking for. Save early, save often, hard to screw up too bad that way.

Well, after getting power point WORKING, we had to dig up information. I now thuroughly hate Box Elder County. And…we’re probably going to baffle the teacher…

While they sent home a paper with a bunch of suggested talking points…I didn’t see it till this morning. Yeah…we’re not hitting those…No, Kyle wants to talk about the Ghost Towns.

So, suggesting we find a creative way to introduce the county, I’ve immortalized a bunch of Box Elder bugs into fake ice cubes. And, his oral report is largely on ghost towns…

Dredging up the ghosts of long forgotten towns…Boy, one would THINK it would be just like a vacation for me. What with that activity being so many of our vacations as a child. Yet, it’s all the research without the fun of standing and listening to those ghosts…

From An UnOrthOdOx Halloween

Ya know…were one to have a nice open field, a whole ghost town thing could be really fun to do for a haunt.

In other news…

The whole Charr Effigy project is a major pain in the ass!

I lost count what plan we’re on now, but it’s time to quit trying to be cute. Yeah, trying to get some little ‘nice’ things into the thing is just not working. Time to quite trying to finesse the damn thing and just go with the basics. Work will start moving more quickly once this report is finally finished…

It’s also that time of year to start planting some more halloween grasses…

A Haunter’s Moon

IS it spring in the air?

Are you sure?

Skeletal limbs reach towards the sky, reaching out, grasping the air. Life is slowly returning to them, pulsing with every moment. Their time will soon be at hand…

Spring? Or Halloween….? Oh, how the moonlight transforms…

Speaking of the moon…

Even a man who’s pure at heart
And says his prayers by night
May become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms
And the moon is full and bright.

I don’t normally get into remakes, but this is looking good. (bootleg leaked trailer)

Highlighting an unusual art project.

I really don’t know what it’s about, why it’s there, or who did it.

I was driving home Friday, when I noticed a turtle climbing a tree off the side of the highway.

What? You ask? Well, there was this wooden painted cutout of a turtle climbing a tree. And, immediately following that, there was a big bird up high in another tree.

I thought that was a bit odd, hadn’t seen those before…

A bit further up the road (Highway 89 in Uintah, btw) I was greeted by the sight of a bunch of penguins standing in a field. And an alien (my wife thinks it might be a frog), a caterpillar, a polar bear, and more penguins.

These, best I can tell, don’t appear to be on private property, and appear to have been tossed around the side of the road at random.

Heading out to the store on Saturday, (going the other direction along said road), I was greeted by monkeys swinging from trees along this side of the road.

I would love to provide some pictures of the things, but it’s not the easiest thing to get a photo of whilst driving by along a busy highway. We’ll have to try when my wife’s in the car and she can roll the window down and snap shots.

I fully approve of the art project, and hope you all can get a glimpse. Don’t know how long they will be up, if more or coming, or really anything about it, so if you know something please feel free to drop us a hint.

In the meantime, a big thumbs up to whoever is responsible. Got a few smiles from me and my kids, and we’re all curious and looking for any additions, or anything we might have missed.
