Masks, contest, pumpkins, preseason, and a Ouija board.

Busy, busy.

Mask update on Kyle. We have the basics down, gotta get some painting and details in on it.

Perfect fit (I would hope so), split up the rear for easy on/off. Top and sides left breathable, huge opening for the nose and mouth. Tried to remove all the things that make a mask uncomfortable, but otherwise an update of his from last year:

From The Harvest

Not sure whether we’ll get one in for me or not. I kinda want to, but also dread it, some of you may recall I get rather claustrophobic in masks…

Finished up my entry for the Guild Wars Art Contest with a little editting help from my wife. I don’t have the editted version online, but here’s the base pic.

My uncle lets me know the pumpkins are ready to pick.

We’ve already been to another uncle’s to grab the corn…beginning the official preseason display.
(sorry didn’t feel like breaking out the tripod)

there’s something simple and creepy about just the light coming through the corn, however.

Add a little fog, I might have to find a way of using that…

Talia’s impression of the corn: “Let’s go in and find our way out again!” If only I had that much room…

Finally, I got word of an attempt to make the largest ouija board session Halloween night. If you’re into that kind of thing, check it out: http://www.ouijaexperiment.com/

It’s that time of year again.

Hmm, driving home, color starting to change, crisp 34 degree temps. Ah, IT IS TIME!

Lagoon has started their Halloween season.

With all this travel, I have pretty much settled in on what we’re doing for the year, and a lot of that is waiting for time to harvest. But, I gotta scratch the itch somehow…

Once again, I think we’ll enter the Guild Wars Halloween Art Contest.

Skipped it last year, after Charr had won in 2009. I think it’s time to go again, just to have a little fun with the season change. Now, to find a suitable subject….

Talia’s new friend(s)

We ended up delivering our third Chimera over to Diablo’s Dome on Saturday.

“Max”, as Talia named it.

Got a little tour of the place, and Talia got to say goodbye to “Max”.

While out in that part of town, we took the Talia and Alec over to The Living Planet Aquarium. Unforutnately, my camera battery had decided to go at that point.

We did get a little pic of Talia and one of her new friends, however.

Settling in on a tough week, myself. This is my time of year. It’s in the air, on the wind…and I’m on business travel.

Still, it’s provided me the opportunity to reunite with my own fears. Driving through a dark woods, listening to a scary book on tape about Bigfoot…

Chimera, Jim, and Repo.

Been a while since an update.

My wife and I headed out to what it turning into an annual tradition on her birthday, the Repo shadowcast. It took me a few days to recover from that, and a few more to edit the pictures, since I was shooting in RAW.

The show was better this year, and the crowd was a whole lot better this year as well. Very fun time.

And, while recovering, with rain pouring down last weekend, I started thinking “why not make a whole torso in Jim style”…

Yes, it is as time consuming as it looks. But, we’ve started on the idea.

Then, with weather finally clearing this week, able to get some swimming in, I even got a little bit of work done on the Chimera.

For the second time, I made myself jump as the car headlights hit the thing while locking up last night.

It’s looking like a THING more than just a frame…
