What happens when you have a father who builds wierdo things out of random junk for Halloween?
You get a wrapping paper stick horse, of course…

In some other news, I had pegged one particular activity as being interesting this season. A “Journey to Bethlehem” at a local church.
When you look at it, this is essentially a haunted house through the story of Christ’s birth. I see these crop up nation wide as well, so chances are you’ve heard of them, or perhaps have even been to one.
However, the one locally here turned out to be rather poorly planned in it’s execution.
Beginning at 6:30, groups were meant to leave every 15 minutes, and your journey was to take an hour. Outside, in what turned out to be temps in the low twenties. So, I packed the kids in layers and full snow gear, and headed out.
The whole setup really did look very impressive. However, after spending 2 hours in line, I asked and was informed it would be at least another hour. I saw the next ‘group’ head out. A group of 10. And, at that point decided to leave.
It was opening night. Here’s hoping they get their act together for next year.
